A 0th in N—especially pertaining to the highscore and speedrunning boards—refers to the best score on a level or episode within N. Taking a Metanet highscore 0th is considered highly prestigious and takes a great deal of skill to obtain one. Rankings are made regularly on the forums to see how the 0th ranking is changing.
The highscorer with the most 0ths is called the grandmaster. The current grandmaster since 12 April, 2012, is EddyMataGallos, who is the 8th-ever grandmaster. The others being, in chronological order, tktktk, Kaellstar, trib4lmaniac, johnny_faneca, Mr_Lim, xaelar, and vankusss.
Thanks to NHigh software, Total 0th Rankings, Level 0th Rankings, Episode 0th Rankings, and Point Rankings can be compiled with ease, and therefore they determine how the top spots are distributed throughout the game. These are then posted on the forums amongst many other rankings, including a written summary, and they together form what is called "The Highscore Rankings ".
