Keep in mind that they are VERY fast, with speed comparable to N at a full sprint. You can't outrun them for long distances, so you need to jump before they touch you. When you can't jump (in unit-width areas for example), life becomes sad. Like 45-3 Manimal Lust.

They are also deadly in extremely small areas, where you have no chance of outrunning them (being unable to build up to a sprint while they are so darn close to you), and therefore you are forced to jump off the surface VERY QUICKLY or die...for example on 67-2 Smismar, or 75-0 Rational.
