Obby is a well-known member of the Metanet Forums community. Obby is not gay.
One place that Obby can be commonly found is the Serious Discussion subforum. He is known for his strong faith in God, and often argues with others. Fellow member and moderator, Tsukatu often debates Obby. Early in the discussions, Obby was not the best debater. He often let his feelings get the best of him. Tsukatu was quick to jump on him, as were many other members. Over time, Obby matured, and has changed dramatically. At times, his feeling do interject into his arguments, but he is very good at not letting them get the best of him.
Obby has a history on NUMA, but hasn't made any maps for quite some time. He is known as "Playa1". He is a bit better than average map maker, but is nothing extraordinary. Obby has sinse lost any interest in NUMA and has stopped playing N altogether.
Obby has made some enimies in the past. Most people have since grown to like him, yet a stray few still have a bit of anger towards him. Tsukatu has since regained respect for Obby over time. One of Obby's best friend on the forum is McP3000. The two joined at almost the same time, and have almost the same amount of posts. [[[McP3000]] or "McP" as he is known, is perhaps a bit more outlandish than Obby, but their two persona's fit each other well. They are in fact the same age. They have both grown a lot over their time at Metanet and are seen as two fun individuals of the community.
Obby's real life is quite complicated. His name is Kevin, he lives in Indiana, and he is 17. He attends a large private school, which he is very satisfied. Although Obby is always cheery and lively, his past is riddled with sorrow. Only a few know this, but Obby lost his mother at a young age. This is one of the main reason's that Obby is so against all "your mom" jokes. Early in Obby's time at metanet, Obby lost his very close grandmother. This hit him deeply, and forced him into seclusion from the forum for a few weeks. He later returned with a newfound vigor to be happy for what he has.
Obby is Catholic, and holds a very deep faith in God. Many people don't know this but Obby's father is actually Jewish. His father let him grow up to decide what religion he wanted. It wasn't until he was in his early teens that Obby settled on Catholicism. Since then he has studied rigorously and become a faithful person.
