Spect (July 1990 – December 2011), real name Philip Sobczak, was an experienced German Highscorer and occasional mapper. He started taking highscores in May 2005, with his first 0th being on 80-3 (Full Circle). One of his scores, although not a 0th, won in the category of Highscore Run of the Year at the 2005 Dronie awards for his run on 11-4, in which he dodged a rocket that was right on his tail in a strange and interesting manner. It can be seen in userlevels demo format below (triple-click to select all):

However, with the appearance of naem, crappitrash, and other cheaters, spect stopped highscoring.

Spect was also ranked 17th on ska's list of most influential N players of all time

He created a few maps, too. They typically have a Metanet style to them; i.e., they are usually ones that seem as though they were directly inspired by the design philosophies of Metanet. He also launched and judged season 3 of NTTS.

In his free time, he played piano and European handball. He posted several videos on YouTube of his piano-playing ability, which can be found here.

Furthermore, he was pretty active in N IRC. Although he didn't talk very much, he was often reachable. He won third place in the Legacy: Origins contest, receiving a dedication map (My Bronze Bunny) and a signature.

On December 16, 2011, Toshosoft, a friend of spect's, reported that spect had committed suicide by jumping in front of a train. He was 21 years old. News of his death shocked the highscoring community and wider N community at large.[1][2]
