The Zap drone is a moving enemy that wanders or moves around a surface. Touching a zap drone will kill the Ninja.
The zap drone has another variant, called the Chase drone: if the Ninja is in a chase drone's line of sight, it will speed up in the direction of the ninja at twice its normal speed, before returning to its default movement after reaching a surface.
Movement[]
Like other drones, Zap drones and Chase drones move in one of six movement patterns, which are pre-set for each drone:
- Wander clockwise,
- Wander counter-clockwise,
- Surface-follow clockwise,
- Surface-follow counter-clockwise,
- Alternating clockwise, and
- Alternating counter-clockwise.
Wandering: The drone moves linearly until it reaches a surface, where it would either turn clockwise or counter-clockwise, and moves linearly in that new direction.
Surface-following: The drone moves clockwise or counter-clockwise around a surface, keeping one side against the surface at all times.
Alternating: Similar to Wandering, except when the drone reaches a surface, it will only turn either clockwise or counter-clockwise.
Chase drones have the same movement patterns, but also have a 'Chasing' mode: When the ninja is in a chase drone's line of sight, it moves linearly at twice its normal speed in the direction the ninja was last at. When it reaches a surface, the chase drone returns to its default movement pattern as listed above, until it's provoked again.
